Teens competing for Siemens science prizes in DC Dec 4th 2012, 14:44 Published December 04, 2012 Associated Press  WASHINGTON –  Nineteen high school students from ten states are in Washington competing for science prizes worth up to $100,000 in scholarship money. The students are taking part in this year's Siemens Competition in Math, Science and Technology. The teens will learn the winners of this year's competition in a ceremony Tuesday at George Washington University. Six students are competing for top individual honors, and six teams are competing for team honors. The top prize in both team and individual categories is a $100,000 scholarship. "These students have invested time, energy and talent in tackling challenging scientific research at a young age," said Jeniffer Harper-Taylor, president of the Siemens Foundation.  "The recognition they have won today demonstrates that engagement in STEM is an investment well worth making."
