Google service disrupted in China
Nov 9th 2012, 20:05

Google saw widespread disruptions to its Web services in China on Friday, according to the company's "transparency report" website.

The service interruptions would mark the latest in a series of problems for the company after it stopped self-censoring its Chinese Web-search engine in 2010.

"We've checked and there's nothing wrong on our end," a Google spokeswoman said in a prepared statement.

Google's transparency report website, which shows information about traffic to its services around the world, notes a precipitous drop in traffic in China starting early Friday. Its services don't appear to be completely blocked throughout the country, the site shows.

Some Web users in China reported problems reaching Google's search engine and Gmail, its email service.
