Nov 11th 2012, 12:00

This Veterans Day, you can send an extra special thanks to armed servicemen -- just by Tweeting.

The History Network invites the twitterverse to "Thank a Vet" and the channel will donate $1 to America's VetDogs.

"History is proud to support America's VetDogs, a 501(c)(3)not-for-profit organization that serves the needs of disabled veterans and active duty personnel by providing guide dogs and training. In honor of Veterans Day and all those who have served, HISTORY will donate $1 to America's VetDogs (up to $10,000) for every #thankavet tweet sent on November 11," the network wrote.

The "It's Never Too Late to Say Thank You," campaign asks you to Tweet your thanks directly from a widge on the History Channel's website, which is precofigured to say, "I am joining @History by tweeting #thankavet to recognize U.S. veterans."

The message will appear on the @History twitter page as well as your personal page.

"Use our Twitter widget to honor the veterans in your life," the History Channel website states.
