Sandy takes out HuffPo, Gawker, Gizmodo Oct 30th 2012, 11:52 Superstorm Sandy has even flooded the Internet. Popular media blogs The Huffington Post, Gawker, Gizmodo, Mediate and more based in the New York area are inaccessible after massive storm Sandy knocked out power to much of the city Monday. The Twitter feed for Gizmodo posted late Monday that a Datagram data center underwater in the rising tide brought on by Sandy had caused the outage. But the site was still down Tuesday morning; Gizmodo said engineers were working to restore service. Major news sites including The New York Times and The Wall Street Journal appear to be operating, the Associated Press reported. | |
